Wake Forest, with a $1 million commitment from Bank of America, is establishing the David C. Darnell Presidential Chair in Principled Leadership at Wake Forest University.
A $650,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has been awarded to Wake Forest in support of “engaged humanities” – teaching, learning, mentoring and real-world problem solving that moves beyond the classroom.
The Stamps Leadership Scholar Award is awarded to approximately five entering first-year students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, a high degree of intellectual curiosity and scholarship, exceptional promise in leadership, service and social responsibility, perseverance, character, integrity, and innovation.
Wake Forest University School of Divinity has received a $300,000 grant from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation that will fund five full-tuition plus stipend merit scholarships for students.
A new grant will allow Wake Forest Law’s Child Advocacy Clinic and the Children’s Law Center of North Carolina to partner to hire a custody attorney guardian for families where there is both domestic violence and issues over the custody of minor children.
